Melter - the experimental sound entity created by UsherHouse founding member Robert Hyman. Although his background is in percussion, Robert's impetus is to create & experiment with anything that is "musical" - which gave birth to Melter in 1995. Operating under the credo of no rules, Melter music combines both acoustic & electronic sounds processed and manipulated through whatever means necessary. Robert creates with anything from guitars, samplers and drums to power tools, found objects and electronic manipulations. Melter compositions have a soul of their own -- the common vein supplying life to each creation -- based on a desire to create something unique with each composition.
